Well it's been a quiet week here for me in Campbell County...my stomping grounds. It's been a hot one too. The temperatures were at least in the upper 70's all week long and some days were quite humid.
On Monday, I gave my boss the letter I received from the District Court summoning me to Jury Duty on the 16th. Wasn't looking forward to that.....I kicked myself in the ass all week for not getting those letters to the courthouse to try and get out of it. Oh well. It's going to happen sooner or later. Anyway, Becky took it and faxed it to the office. Hopefully I can still get out of serving.
As far as my office hours are concerned, nothing big to talk about here. Just BAU on that front...wasn't excessively busy--just getting ready for Tuesday. My patrols later that day were the usual boring as hell patrols...nothing happened.
Melanie was off work and Mondays, her mother babysits our two nieces. Being the loving auntie she is, Melanie paid her parents a visit and to kiss on our nieces. I got to hear about all the cute things our oldest niece said.
On Tuesday, I was busy but not too bad. It was a typical Tuesday, as Tuesdays are my busiest days in the office. I was well-prepared for it and knocked everything out of the park. My patrols were BAU as well.
Melanie stayed home and worked upstairs as she usually does...being a home agent has its advantages.
After Melanie clocked out, we went to the library to surf the Internet, as we don't have a good working PC at home with Internet since viruses fucked our shit up......I can't wait until we can use the Internet at home for personal use---Melanie uses our Internet connection at home so she can work but that's about it.
Wednesday.....wow.....wednesday. I got murdered! People were quite eager that day as I didn't have time to eat my breakfast or sip my tea and water and check my email until after 9 am. When 9 am rolled around, I quickly ate my breakfast and drank my beverages between people coming in for badges. I'd say that Wednesday was hour for hour my busiest day that week. Some people even showed up when my office hours were over wanting shit but I had to turn them away. My patrols were BAU and I had time to stop by and talk to Jenny for a while. I don't know why we always get stuck on some conversation about food. Call it a curse. Nothing unusual on the homefront on Wednesday.
Thursday was a slow day at the office for me. Had a chance to catch my breath and get some things done. Lots of filework got done and made my office look much better. Took some time to do it too. That's what I get for procrastinating. Hey, at least I got the shit done!
Thursday is payday for me, so yeah, I indulged in a bit of Yagoot. Love that stuff. Found out that banana with mochi mixed in is really good and it made my stomach feel good too. Ate Mescalada two days in a row. Tried this one sushi out and it was vile!!!! I had to throw most of it out....it wasn't spoiled or anything....just didn't taste good. I was really thirsty that day...drank several Gatorades throughout the course of the day. I usually eat in the cafeteria once or twice at the most every two weeks.
Friday was my oldest niece's birthday. Happy Birthday Maya!!! Anyway, the party is scheduled for Saturday but rain has been predicted for the whole weekend. Friday was a wet day....a really wet day. I drove to work today and gave a co-worker a lift home. What a washout!!! But I can say that my inlaws won't be running out of water anytime soon! It was nice and quiet when I did get home...Melanie went in to the office to work and to have her shitty work computer looked at...turned out it was a connection issue at home. Go figure. We live in an area where our cell phones don't always work. We may get a bar of signal here and there but not enough to carry on a conversation. Just enough to get a text message out.
Saturday was the birthday party...it was washed out. Found out shortly before the party that a change of venue had occurred. I'm glad we found out or we would have went to the park and found it deserted. Oh well. It was a nice party...good food. My brother-in-law made some kickass guacamole.
Ah yes....quacamole.....one of the finest things in life. He told me how he made it so the next time I go to Sam's, I'm gonna buy the shit he used and make a shitload of it....and it's all mine! Melanie is alergic to avacados so more for me!!! Woo-hoo!
Sunday was a quiet day in the Bible belt of the county....everyone was going to church, including us!!! Melanie had to work the past few Sundays so we haven't gone for a while. It was nice, and following the service was a reception for our new pastor. Great finger food. Much better food that usual. Got my shit together later on for my Jury Duty appointment on Monday. Got a little housework done and made some tea.
....And that's the news from Campbell County---where all the drivers are slow.....the police are bored...and half the high school kids are high on marijuana.....until next week!
